Don as an Artist

Don saw the world as an artist. In his words,

“My fine art is based on travels and personal photographs that have been collected through a lifetime of recording places, nature, working waterfront, and sailing. I am interested in creating empathetic renderings in pastel. The beauty of farm architecture both useful and derelict, holds my attention. As time goes on, I look to explore genre subjects from everyday scenes in nature and the urban landscapes of our country.”

One Line

Don's one-line drawings were complete pictures made without ever lifting the pen. This is ours, together — every visitor adds a single line, and each one picks up exactly where the last one ended. Nobody who knew Don has the whole picture alone. Maybe this doesn't either — but drawn together, it gets closer.
